About

Working through networking questions in public.

copy run start is where I write my way through networking questions.

I’ll mostly write about Ethernet, data-center networking, AI plus whatever looks interesting enough to investigate next. This is also where I try to surface the questions I was too afraid to ask and remind myself that thankfully, there are no silly questions.

About me

I’m Karthik Sagar, a data-center network engineer at Cisco. My current work focuses on networks for AI and machine-learning workloads, including VXLAN EVPN fabrics, lossless Ethernet, RoCEv2, PFC/ECN, SONiC, and the automation around them.

I’ve worked in networking since 2010, starting in technical support and product testing before moving into consulting, design, and operations. I hold active CCIE certifications in Data Center and Service Provider CCIE #40988 and a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

These are living notes. I expect to come back and revise them as I learn more.
